My new bra feels like a hug

by: Kate scholl

My new bra feels like a hug
It holds fast where I need
It embraces and invites
supportively

It also lingers too long
awkwardly
It digs in places
Just like a hug does
sometimes

My new bra is my first bra, my first
breath
A bralette
They call it

It holds me together while I
grow
in more ways than one
One day I will have wings and I will fly
That day I will hate the bra and want to break
My cocoon
