It’s a dark-closet world in Tired House.
Cuttings unfold moribund blooms.
Faces press to windows,
red petals rot on glass.
By May, morning-glory
entombs the front door.
Letters expire in the mailbox, broken pots
absorb into earth.
Sabrina Ito currently lives in Honolulu, Hawaii where she works as a high school Languages teacher. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and French literature and a Teacher Certification Degree at Simon Fraser University, in British Columbia. Sabrina has been writing and studying poetry, short fiction and screenplay writing for over ten years. This is her first publication.
