Geraniums

By Sabrina Ito

It’s a dark-closet world in Tired House.

Cuttings unfold moribund blooms.

Faces press to windows,
red petals rot on glass.

By May, morning-glory
entombs the front door.

Letters expire in the mailbox, broken pots

absorb into earth.
