16th and Mission
By David Scronce
A woman in a wheelchair
Almost blocks the top of the stairs.
Her change cup catches the 8 a.m. light
That also glazes her face.
Her hair’s turning gray.
Her head, relapsed back on her neck,
Bobs softly in time with her breath.
